How to make a before-and-after room video

You need two photos from the same spot: the room as it is, and as it could be — a Pixly redesign of that photo works. Open Photo to video in Video AI, put the room in Start photo and the redesign in End photo, say in the prompt what changes, and click Create video. A 5-second video shows the old room turning into the new one. It costs 5 credits.

The five steps

  1. 01

    Make the “after” first

Redesign the room photo with Stage (1 credit) — it keeps the walls, windows and camera, so the two photos line up. A real renovation photo taken from the same spot works too.

  2. 02

    Open Photo to video

In Pixly, go to Video AI and pick Photo to video — it's under Animate.

  3. 03

Add the before and the after

Put the room as it is in Start photo and the redesign in End photo. The video starts on the first photo and ends exactly on the second.

  4. 04

    Say what changes

The camera moves above are for two views of one room. For a before-and-after, write your own prompt: keep the camera still and say what changes and what stays, for example “The camera holds still while the room is redesigned: the old furniture fades away and the new furniture, rug and art appear. The walls, windows and floor stay the same.”

  5. 05

Create the video and download it

Kling v3, 5 seconds, sound off: 5 credits. Click Create video; the video lands in Recent and your Library, ready to download.

Photos that work best

  • The “after” made from the “before”, so the camera is exactly the same.
  • A wide shot of the whole room, bright and level.
  • A clear change: new furniture, colours or finishes.
  • In the prompt, name what stays — walls, windows, floor — as well as what changes.

What to avoid

  • Two photos from different spots: the camera flies between them instead of changing the room.
  • An “after” that moved walls or windows — the video morphs the room itself.
  • Presenting a redesign as the finished room: show it as an idea of what's possible.
