Does trimming reduce the quality?

No. The tool copies the original compressed frames into the new file instead of re-encoding them, so the picture and sound are bit-for-bit what you filmed. That's also why it finishes in seconds.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no upload limit because nothing is uploaded. The trimmed copy is built in your device's memory, so a very long 4K recording on an older phone can run out of room — trim it on a computer, or record walkthroughs in shorter takes.

Which formats can I trim?

MP4, MOV (including iPhone HEVC clips), M4V, WebM and MKV. The trimmed file is saved as MP4, which every phone, browser, social network and portal accepts. Apple ProRes recordings are not supported yet.

Can I trim a video on my phone?

Yes. It works in Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android — tap Choose video and pick the clip from your library, set the start and end, then download the MP4.
