Why a real estate video editor instead of a general one
Listing videos have a shape: a hook, a walk-through in room order, and a call to action, cut tight to music. This editor is built around that — vertical 9:16 by default for Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, beat detection so your cuts land on the music, and speed ramps for the drone pull-back and the entryway push-in. It is deliberately small: the tools an agent actually uses on a listing, without the hundred panels of a desktop suite.
Questions about the free video editor
Is it really free, and is there a watermark?
It is free and there is no watermark on your export. You need a free Pixly account to export, which is how we keep the tool from being abused; editing itself needs no account.
Do my videos get uploaded anywhere?
No. The editor reads your files directly from your computer and renders the final MP4 in your browser with your own hardware. Nothing is sent to a server, so nothing can be stored on one.
Where is my project saved?
In this browser, on this device. Your timeline and the media you imported are stored locally, so closing the tab is safe and your work is there when you come back. Clearing your browser data or switching to another computer starts a fresh project — for projects that follow you across devices, use the editor inside the Pixly app on a paid plan.
What can I actually do with it?
Import videos, photos and music; trim and split clips; reorder them; add wipe, fade and slide transitions; set speed, including editable speed curves for ramps and slow motion; add text overlays; detect the beat of your music and snap cuts to it; then export an MP4.
What formats and length does it handle?
MP4 and MOV video, JPG, PNG and WebP photos, MP3, WAV and M4A audio — anything your browser can play. Exports are vertical 9:16 at 30fps. Rendering happens in real hardware time, so keep free exports to about a minute; longer edits are better done in the app.
How is this different from the Pixly app's editor?
Same editor. Inside the app on a paid plan it also reaches your Pixly library — every staged photo, tour and reel you have generated drops straight into the timeline — saves projects to your account, and exports at 1080×1920.
