Walk through the rooms with your iPhone and get a finished floor plan. On iPhone Pro models the LiDAR scanner measures the walls, doors and windows by itself. On every other iPhone you tap the corners. Scanning is free.

How scanning works

  1. 1

    Get the app

Download the free Pixly app and open Floor plan. You can scan without an account.

  2. 2

    Walk through the rooms

Scan one room after another. The app joins them into one plan, with the doors and windows in place.

  3. 3

    Style it and share it

Name the rooms, pick a look and share the plan as an image, or open it on pixly.app to finish it on a bigger screen.

Two ways to measure

LiDAR scan

iPhone 12 Pro and newer Pro models, iPad Pro from 2020

Point the camera at the room and walk slowly. The scanner measures walls, doors and windows as you go, and the plan draws itself.

Corner by corner

Every other iPhone with iOS 18

Stand in the middle of the room, aim at each corner where two walls meet the floor, and tap. The app works out the walls from the corners.

What you get

The same plan in any of the app's looks, from a technical drawing to a realistic brochure style with real floors and furniture. Room names, sizes and the total area are on the sheet.

Finish it in the web editor

Every scanned plan opens in the free Pixly floor plan editor. Add rooms, type exact wall lengths, draw curved walls and stairs, furnish it, add the plot and garden, and download PNG, PDF or SVG.

Questions about scanning floor plans

Is the floor plan scanner free?

Yes. The app is free to download and scanning is free. You can scan without an account. A free Pixly account keeps up to three plans and opens them on pixly.app.

Which iPhones have LiDAR?

iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max, and every Pro and Pro Max model since. iPad Pro models from 2020 have it too. The app checks your device and offers the LiDAR scan when it is there.

Can I use it without LiDAR?

Yes. On other iPhones you measure corner by corner: stand in the middle of the room, aim at each corner on the floor and tap. It takes a little longer than a LiDAR scan and gives the same kind of plan. The app needs iOS 18.

How accurate is a scanned floor plan?

Good enough to show the layout and room sizes in a listing. Scanned sizes are approximate, so don't use them for building work, legal documents or valuations. You can type a measured length on any wall to correct it.

Can I scan a whole flat or house?

Yes. Scan room by room and the app joins the rooms into one plan. For a house with several floors, add the other floors in the web editor.

Can I edit the plan after scanning?

Yes. The app has quick fixes for walls, doors, windows and furniture. The web editor on pixly.app does the rest: new rooms, exact sizes, stairs, measurements and the garden.

Is there an Android app?

Not yet. On Android or a computer you can draw the plan in the free web editor.

Scan your first room

It takes a few minutes per room, and the plan is ready before you leave the property.
